Smarmore Castle is one of Ireland’s oldest buildings, dating from 1320. It has just five bedrooms so you won’t feel overcrowded. They are all spacious and distinctive. The Viscount’s room, located in the tower has a four poster bed while a number of the others are ideal for families. All our bedrooms have tea and coffee making facilities, an ensuite shower room and are centrally heated. We have tried to ensure that they maintain their sense of history while offering the comfort of the most contemporary boutique accommodation.
The Irish tourist board classifies the castle as an historic house. Our facilities are on a par with that of a good hotel but we do not have a bar or serve food during the day. If you are staying you are welcome to bring your own drinks along for consumption in the castle. “La Cucina” Restaurant located in the castle courtyard offers a menu with a distinctive Italian flavour and is licensed to serve wine and beverages with meals. It is run independently and opens six days per week. Booking is advisable particularly at weekends. You can contact Lucio who runs it directly on 041-6859955.

We require credit card details in order to guarantee your reservation. We LOOK FOWARD TO HEARING FROM YOU and Mastercard. You can phone or fax with them. Please don’t send any credit card details by e-mail. We will send you back full confirmation and details on the best way to get here.
Cancellation policy
If you cancel your reservation within 5 days of arrival then we charge the full room rate for the first night if we are unable to re-sell the room. Failure to show forfeits 100% of accommodation charge for the duration of the stay.
