ATTRACTIONS - Drogheda

One of the best ways to get a feel for Drogheda is to join one of the walking tours of the town run by the Old Drogheda Society each day during the summer. These tours are an excellent way to ensure that you see all the historical sites and hear the stories that may or may not be covered in the guide books. The tours are conducted by local guides and feature stop offs at Millmount, The Boyne Viaduct , The Thosel, St Peter's Church of Ireland Churchyard, Magdalene Tower, The Old Cornmarket, St Peter's Church, St Oliver's Plunkett's Shrine, St Laurence Gate , Whitworth Hall , Drogheda Grammar School and finish with a tour of the new Highlanes Gallery. Drogheda is also a good place to eat out, shop or socialise after a tour.
