Most of our guests use the castle as for a base for a two or three day exploration of our region or as a place for a relaxing weekend break. Our guests are welcome to stay for one night between Sunday and Thursday inclusive but due to the fact that we only have five rooms we do not take single night bookings on Fridays or Saturdays. We do have a special weekend rate that covers two nights and offer reduced rates for longer stays. Check our Special Offers page for the current special deals .
Smarmore castle is one of the oldest buildings offering accommodation in Ireland and the Irish tourist board classifies the castle as an historic house. Our facilities are on a par with that of a good hotel but we do not have a bar or serve food during the day. However “La Cucina” Restaurant located in the castle courtyard offers a menu with a distinctive Italian flavour and is licensed to serve wine and beverages with meals. It is run independently and opens six days per week. Booking is advisable particularly at weekends. You can contact Lucio who runs it directly on 041-6859955.

Cancellation policyIf you cancel your reservation within 5 days of arrival then we charge the full room rate for the first night, if we are unable to re-sell the room. Failure to show forfeits 100% of accommodation charge for the duration of the stay. |
