There was a trip down memory lane

on Tuesday 5 July when Smarmore Castle appears on RTE’s ‘At Your Service’ TV show.

This is the show in which Francis and John Brennan

who operate the five star Park Hotel in Kenmare visit B&Bs, small hotels and other operators in the hospitality business around Ireland to analyse and suggest solutions to problems they are encountering.

Tuesday’s show was filmed in October 2010 and since then the leisure club has closed.

It was a follow on from the original show that was screened in 2009.

The recent broadcast show some of the changes that were made in the interior of the castle between August 2009 and October 2010.

In March 2010 the owners took the decision to close the leisure club and are concentrating on the accommodation side of the business.

They are currently having a busy year as more and more visitors start to explore the undiscovered gems of Louth and Meath. They also offer small functions in the castle, anything from a small family gathering to a wedding of 50 people.
